If I go out and murder 20 people in Omaha, it's not up the families of each deceased person to decide how to go after me - the DA and the legal apparatus will take up a case against me. That's boring stuff, maybe, but the point is that if they are stealing fonts and printing the typefaces on clothing, it's up to each owner to sue them. ![]() ![]() I've seen EULAs that seem extremely limiting to the point of "why would anyone buy it?" (cough*Marian Bantjes' Restraint*cough) and then I've seen some where I think, "damn, that's a really useful product and they're not thinking about the financial possibilities with things like embedding it in software." You'd have to arrange a special license for that.īut: that's far from universal. When you buy a font, there's a EULA and quite frequently, that EULA says you can't just print out an "&" on a mug and sell that, you can't have it made into a lasercut piece of plastic and sell it as a coaster. What do you mean by other people's typography? Can you give me an example? It would be up to each individual property owner. ![]() There's no official board to report this to.
